Mall in Batam Island

List of shopping Mall in Batam Island :


  • Mega Mall, Batam Centre is located in Batam Central Bussines District. Could be reach directly from Batam Centre Ferry Terminal. Here You can buy what ever you want before start touring around this island. Buying clothing is one of the cheapest means of shopping here. The branded goods here is reasonable cheap. You will find that this is one of reason why Singapore tourist often spend their money for shopping in Batam.
  • Nagoya Hill. At about 15 Minutes from Batam Centre Ferry Terminal. For now is the biggest shopping mall in Batam and hosted by Matahari Departemental Store. You also can find Batam typical food named Cake Villa in front of Nagoya Hill. The brand is Cake Pisang Villa.
  • Panbill Mall, is one of mall that located in Muka Kuning near industrial area Batamindo Industrial Park. This the place where workers of several industri di Batamindo to shop for. You can find clothes, shoes, women accessories, nad ofcourse foods.
  • Lucky Plaza is the largest mall for mobile phone in Batam Island. 
  • Top 100 Penuin, located near after Lucky Plaza is a mall with specialist selling food and souvenirs in Batam. You will find Singapore chocolate, Malaysian crackers and others.
  • Top 100 batuaji, same with Top 100 Mall  Penuin which located in shouth of Batam island. You can find the similar product here. After touring around this mall, you can fresh your body with take a shower or go swimming in the pool name Water Boom. But don't be surprised if here is very crowded during holiday
  • Kepri Mall, is the newest and also one of the biggest mall that locate in Batam Centre not far from Mega Mall.

Riau Islands 2011 Projections


Several important issues concerning the outlook for economy of the Riau Islands Province, among others, about the provision of economic infrastructure, promotion of overseas investment, service bureaucracy, increased export volumes and the implementation of the Regions Free Trade Zone in Batam, Bintan and Karimun.

The development of the region that occurred could be an opportunity for the Riau Islands. Among other things, the political situation deteriorated Thailand, and Malaysia is less conducive. Meanwhile, Singapore's economic growth in 2009 that''free fall''but rose impressively in 2010. In addition, the competitiveness of regional industry of the region rose sharply.

In the political environment in post-election Riau Islands Riau Islands governor, quite conducive. However, government spending is still sluggish, somewhat helped by the velocity of money during the elections which reached Rp135 billion.

Politics kompromistik after elections expected member of calm and conducive situation. However, businesses expect the Riau Islands provincial government's economic team is expected to credible and competent. Medium Term Development Plan is expected to realistic and focused.

Although economic data showed the number Kepri good enough where economic growth is predicted Kepri 2011 over 6%, while national economic growth of 5.8%, but the constraints faced by personality among others, the imbalance of development between regions and between regions that have not been integrated, resources kelutan not maximized, the agricultural sector still depends on other regions, the limited energy and clean water and education levels are still low. Industrial estate in batam consists of three major industries including the electronics industry, heavy industry and shipbuilding industry.
The largest industry operating in Batam is the electronic and computer related industry such as components and parts, audio and video equipment, automotives part, printed circuit board (PCB) makers etc.

BATAM VISA on ARRIVAL REQUIREMENTS

For all visitors traveling to Batam there are now Batam visa requirements (in effect since 2006). Tourist or visit visas can be obtained on arrival at all of the Batam Ferry Terminals for passport holders from the following countries:

For those people that are traveling to Batam for business (such as meetings, etc) you will require a visa on arrival as per the list above.

Please note that a visa on arrival is not valid for any work or employment in Batam.

For those people traveling to Batam for work, whether it is for short or long term, you will need to apply for a visa on arrival and then change it to a work permit once you have arrived at your company of employment (if the company has not already pre-arranged a permit for you).

Your company should then be able to assist you with your visa / permit requirements. Please check with your employer before arriving in Batam

Seafood around Batam Island

For those who are fond of hunting a special taste, is a lively city that belong in the list of visits. Seafood is a mainstay Batam. Some seafood menu that can be found in Batam, including bark, a type of snail with a shell and hard, but have a tasty meat, mangrove crabs and other marine fish species.

Presentation was unique because visitors can choose their own fish and other seafood, and live in cook, so food served really fresh.

Soft fish, fresh broth, and when seasoned with soy sauce and chili sauce, it's getting warmer. Not surprisingly, visitors told to eat seafood in Batam is most convenient, because it taste sweet, sour and spicy fish flavor blend to produce high taste.
Another mainstay menu cuttlefish or better known as squid. There is a cooked flour and fried squid steambot menu. Steambot menu served with the fire on the table. This menu contains material sliced meats, chicken, seafood, fish, tofu, vegetables in the insert into the pot.

To visit this seafood restaurant, is very easy. Because the spread in almost all corners of Batam, there is a form of tent stalls, a special place on the edge of the beach, and restaurants in the city.
